COMMUNITY HERITAGE TALKS

New for 2017!

Community Talks is a new project created by the Blackpool Heritage Champions. Suitable for community groups, societies and organisations, the talks provide an insight into aspects of Blackpool’s fascinating heritage.

 



Talks available include:

 

BLACKPOOL TOWER

  • The development of the Tower from its foundations to the present day

  • Background to the attractions over the years

  • Includes information on the famous Tower Circus and Ballroom

 

STANLEY PARK

  • See photos of the park being built

  • Includes the opening ceremony

  • The design and plans for the park

  • The Cocker Memorial Clock

  • The Art Deco cafe

 

RAIKES HALL

  • One of Blackpool’s past treasures – little evidence remains of this main attraction

  • See The Royal Palace Gardens and its spectacular attractions from the 1800s

  • From Monkey Houses and Niagara Falls to High Wire acts and Circuses

 

WINTER GARDENS

  • Enjoy this wonderful building’s history through photographs and information

  • Includes the Opera House and Empress Ballroom

  • See and hear about the array of magnificent rooms such as the Spanish Hall, Baronial Hall and Mazzei café

  • Hear about the development of Blackpool’s oldest existing theatre – the Pavilion
