A leisurely stroll around the cemetery to listen to the history of locals buried within and how cemeteries were formed and managed since 1846. Meet at main entrance gate, can take up to 2hrs. Suitable for families.

Cleveleys 1906 Cottage Exhibition Tour - Thurs, Fri

Meet at the corner of Cleveleys Avenue and West Drive, Cleveleys adjacent to the Bowls Club. For 3 months in 1906, the latest ideas in house design were constructed and grouped together as a grand showroom. All 42 of these unique buildings survived both world wars so join this walking tour to find out more.

Decimus Burton Exhibition - Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun (new for 2016)

The Burton Room, North Euston Hotel, The Esplanade, Fleetwood

An exhibition of the Life and Work of the Eminent London Architect Decimus Burton who was employed by Sir Peter Hesketh to design the new town of Fleetwood. On display in the Burton Room, North Euston Hotel.

Fleetwood Masonic Hall, 32 The Esplanade, Fleetwood- Sunday only

Although Freemasonry has flourished in Fleetwood since 1863 when the first lodge, Hesketh Lodge, named after Fleetwood’s founder was formed, it was not until March 1956 that local Masons moved into the Masonic Hall on the town’s Esplanade. Formerly a 17 bedroom orphanage, it has been transformed into a building which visitors are welcome to enjoy as part of the Heritage Open Days tour.

Fylde Country Life Museum at Farmer Parrs - Fri, Sat

Wyrefield Farm, Rossall Lane, Fleetwood FY7 8JP

Farmer Parrs Animal World is a popular tourist attraction in Fleetwood. It is also home to the ‘Fylde Country Life Museum’, a large museum arranged over 2 floors containing thousands of local artefacts. Run by volunteers from the Fylde Country Life Preservation Society, it plays a vital role in keeping local history alive. A real hidden gem – so why not take a walk down memory lane? The museum also has a small section dedicated to WW1 which includes a re-creation of ‘The Somme’ trenches.

Open: Free entry on Friday 9th & Saturday 10th September only: 10am - 5pm

Mention HODs at the farm gate for free admission. Normal entry charges apply at all other times.

Marine Hall has been entertaining audiences for decades. Visitors can come and have a look around our magnificent ballroom, stand under the glass domed ceiling and listen to its acoustics and echo.

Marsh Mill, Cleveleys - Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun (back for 2016)

Fleetwood Road North, Thornton Cleveleys, FY5 4JZ

Marsh Mill is a grade ll* listed building and one of the tallest mills in Europe. The mill offers a unique introduction to milling of a bygone age. Guided tours are available for visitors and provide a real insight into the history and engineering of the mill.

Mount Pavilion - Sat, Sun

The Esplanade, Fleetwood


A chance to admire fantastic views of Morecambe Bay and the Pennine Hills from the balcony, even the Isle of Man on a clear day. See what you can pick out from the direction finder. The clock on top of the building was presented to Fleetwood in memory of those who lost their lives in the First World War. The internal workings of the clock are on view upstairs and the mechanism can be seen as it strikes every quarter of the hour.

North Euston Hotel Cellar Tour, The Esplanade, Fleetwood - Sun only

This is one not to be missed, an eye opening tour of the historic cellars beneath the famous North Euston Hotel The North Euston Hotel was built 1840–41, to a design by Decimus Burton. During the second half of the 19th century the building was used by the War Department as a School of Musketry; by the end of the century it had reverted to its original purpose. The hotel has been designated a Grade II listed building by English Heritage.

The observation tower is home to the National Coastwatch Institute (NCI), from where volunteers keep a watch over the sandbanks and beyond, into Morecambe Bay. It assists in the protection and preservation of life at sea and around our shores.

Built in 1844, Rossall School is a traditional British boarding school on a 160- acre campus with striking architecture.

St Mary’s Church - Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun

Lord Street, Fleetwood

The foundation stone of this church, which was designed by Edward W Pugin, was laid on 17th May 1866 by the Bishop of Liverpool. Built over the next two years at a cost of £4000, the church was given Grade II listed status in 1978. 2016 marks 150 years since the foundation stone was laid.

St Peter’s Church: Lord Street (Market end), Fleetwood - Fri, Sat.

Is an active Anglican parish church in the Diocese of Blackburn. It was completed in 1841, to a design by Decimus Burton. Burton had been employed by Peter Hesketh-Fleetwood in 1836 to lay out the new planned town of Fleetwood. It is protected as a Grade II listed building. Light refreshments are available to purchase.

St Wulstan’s present church was opened in March 1961 at a cost of £40,000. Display of photos showing events and people of the parish, past and present. View the original paintings above the altar in the ‘old church’, built in 1925, now behind the stage in the school hall.
