AKS Lytham Independent School - Saturday (new for 2016)

Come and discover the 108 year old school building on Clifton Drive South and explore over 300 years of schools’ histories. (Arnold, KES, QMS, KEQMS) within our archives collection. Relax in our café and take in the ambience of the school and enjoy our award winning music and catering service (11am - 3pm)

Open: Saturday 10th September: 11am - 3pm. Tours will take place at 12 noon & 2pm

Lancastrian Transport Trust - Sunday

Free heritage bus tour from Fairhaven Lake to St Anne’s Pier in conjunction with the Vintage Car Rally that is taking place at the Lake. The bus will take passengers to St Anne’s Pier and return back to Fairhaven Lake.

Open: Sunday 11th September: 10.30am - 4pm. The service will run every 15 minutes

Access details: Vintage Buses are not wheelchair accessible but can be carried on if folded.

Lytham Hall - Sunday

Ballam Road, Lytham

Photo: Lytham Hall is a fine grade 1 listed 18th century manor house on the Lancashire coast.


Lytham Hall parkland buildings. This year Lytham Hall will open some of its buildings in the parkland for a unique look

behind the scenes. Come visit the gatehouse, dovecote, privy, cottage or stables. The Hall itself will be closed.

Lytham Methodist Church - Thurs, Fri, Sat.

Visit around the church and enjoy the organist playing between 12 noon - 2pm on Saturdays only.

Lytham Windmill Museum and Old Lifeboat House, The Green, Lytham - Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun.

Lytham’s best known landmark, the Windmill, contains a seasonal museum with a series of exhibits focused on mills and milling and the heritage of Lytham St Annes and the Fylde area. The museum which annually attracts an average of 25,000 visitors from all parts of the world, was established in 1989 by Lytham Heritage Group. It is run voluntarily by the Group’s members and houses exhibitions and displays spread over 4 floors including explanations of the milling processes and history of the Grade II Listed building. The basement shows a tableau of life in Victorian Lytham. In addition the nearby Old Lifeboat House holds an exhibition about the worst disaster in the history of the RNLI, The Wreck of the Mexico, as well as a 100 year old restored lifeboat and other artefacts. It is open Saturday and Sunday only, but at the same times as the Windmill

Matlock House - Saturday (new for 2016)

300 Clifton Drive South, St Annes FY8 ILH (opposite M&S)

Matlock House was built in 1877 two years after the foundation of St Annes on the sea It was where the local Board of Health first met before it became a schoolroom in 1900. Visitors can see original tiling, which is still in excellent condition.

St Anne's-on-Sea Parish Churchyard War Memorial Trail - Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun

St Anne's Road East, Lytham St. Anne's, Lancashire, FY8 2EA

The St Annes Parish Church Graveyard Memorial Trail comprises 44 WWI and 11 WW2 memorial in the churchyard honouring men who died in service of their country. Each memorial gravestone has a marker board with information about the man, and his background and the circumstances of his death. A trail guide is available online www.stannesparishchurch.org or from the Parish Office (open 10am - 12 noon.)

Open: Thursday 8th to Saturday 10th September: 10am - 6pm.

Sunday 11th September: 12 noon - 6pm

Access details: Away from the paths the Churchyard is rough ground: it may be hazardous when wet and is not suitable for wheelchairs.

The Town Hall, St Anne's, FY8 1LW - Saturday only

The Town Hall: St Anne's Road West, St Anne's, FY8 1LW

The Town Hall at St Annes was built originally as the Southdown Hydro in 1896 and later adapted as a Town Hall in 1925. Many of the original features are still retained in excellent condition, including the staircase, stained glass and fine Minton tiling on walls and floors. Items of the Lytham St Annes (LSA) Art Collection are displayed throughout the building. Fylde Decorative and Fine Arts Society working in conjunction with the Friends of the LSA Art Collection, offer guided tours of the artwork using the new catalogue from the ‘Tagging The Treasures’ project. The LSA Civic Society Archive Postcard Collection will also be available. 

Open: Saturday 10th September: 10am to 4pm

Access details: Partial wheelchair access. Ramp up to the front door of the Town Hall.

There is no lift available inside the building.

A landmark white building in Byzantine style that was built 104 years ago as a Congregational Church.

Open: Thurs 8th September: 10.30am - 4pm, Friday 9th September: 10.30am - 2pm, Sunday 11th September: 10.45am - 4pm
