This website covers 'Free to Explore' Heritage Open Days venues in Blackpool, Fleetwood, Rossall, Cleveleys, Lytham St Anne's, Ansdell.

Heritage Open Days celebrates Blackpool & The Fylde Coast's fantastic architecture by offering free access to places that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission.

Every year on four days in September, buildings throw open their doors, free to explore. It is a once-a-year chance to discover architectural treasures and enjoy a wide range of tours, events and activities that bring local history and culture to life.

This website is based on the colour booklet which is available at the Central Library and around the area and can be downloaded on the link above.


Public Transport:

Blackpool Transport operate buses near to all venues, their website is on the links page and contains route maps and timetables. Stagecoach, Catch 22, Preston Bus and other operators run services in the area.

Blackpool Transport operate the tram service along the promenade from Starr Gate to Fleetwood Ferry which takes you fairly close to several venues. NowCards are only valid for Blackpool and Wyre residents on the trams.

Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours operate a weekend service at the time of Heritage Open Days. For the full heritage experience get on a tram of yesteryear.

Rail services operate to Blackpool North for central Blackpool and to connect with transport to other places.

Rail Services operate between Lytham, Ansdell, St Annes, Squires Gate, Pleasure Beach and Blackpool South.
